ParticipantFinding a reliable way to earn extra currency in Path of Exile 2 does not always mean spending hours farming the same content. Some crafting strategies can fit naturally into your regular Atlas routine, allowing you to spend only a short time in your hideout before returning to gameplay. This Waystone crafting method is a good example. It takes approximately five minutes to prepare a batch and another five minutes to list the finished items. For players who want to increase their POE2 Currency without constantly interrupting their mapping sessions, this side farm is worth understanding.
Why Is Waystone Crafting a Good Side Farm?
Waystones are essential for Atlas progression, which creates consistent demand among players. Well-crafted versions with desirable modifiers can be particularly attractive because they help players improve their mapping experience. Compared with complicated crafting projects, this strategy also has a relatively straightforward process that can be repeated in batches.
The example focuses on 50 Tier 15 Waystones. Using a larger batch provides more opportunities to obtain valuable results from corruption, although it also requires a substantial initial investment. Before starting, make sure you have enough currency to cover the materials and can accept the possibility of unfavorable outcomes.
Step 1: Collect 50 Uncorrupted Tier 15 Waystones
Begin by preparing 50 uncorrupted Tier 15 Waystones. Their rarity does not matter at this stage, so Normal, Magic, and Rare versions are all suitable. The example estimates that 50 Waystones cost approximately 50 Vaal Orbs, equivalent to around 0.8 Divine Orbs at the stated exchange rate.
If you purchase them through the market, remember to consider transaction fees as well as the listed prices. Rare Waystones may be cheaper in currency but require more gold for transaction fees. Normal and Magic versions can cost slightly more currency while being cheaper to purchase in terms of gold fees. Choose whichever option provides better overall value for your budget.
Step 2: Upgrade and Maximize the Modifiers
Once you have collected the Waystones, use Orbs of Alchemy to upgrade every Normal and Magic version into Rare items. After all 50 are Rare, use Exalted Orbs to increase their modifier counts until they reach the maximum.
The example uses 92 Exalted Orbs for this preparation stage, costing approximately 0.16 Divine Orbs. This is a relatively small part of the total investment, but it prepares the Waystones for the more important modifier-targeting process.
Step 3: Use Three Omens to Target Desirable Modifiers
The next stage requires three types of Omens: Omen of Chaotic Rarity, Omen of Chaotic Quantity, and Omen of Chaotic Monsters. Prepare 50 of each type for the 50 Waystones. In the example, purchasing all three groups costs approximately 78 Divine Orbs.
Omen prices can fluctuate, so avoid accepting expensive offers immediately. Compare market ratios and consider placing lower offers if you have time to wait.
Activate all three Omens together before using Chaos Orbs. The target is approximately 85% Waystone Drop Chance and 86% Monster Effectiveness. These modifiers can make the finished Waystones more appealing to players who want better rewards and more efficient Atlas runs.
Be careful when applying Chaos Orbs. The Omens can be consumed during the process, so using multiple Chaos Orbs on the same Waystone may waste your materials. Confirm that the Omens are active and apply one Chaos Orb to each item.
Step 4: Corrupt the Finished Waystones
After all 50 Waystones have the desired modifiers, use Vaal Orbs to corrupt them. This final stage introduces randomness, but it also creates the opportunity to obtain Tier 16 Waystones from your Tier 15 items.
In the example, six Waystones become Tier 16 versions, each selling for approximately 400 Vaal Orbs, or around 5.5 Divine Orbs. Other Tier 15 Waystones can also have considerable value depending on their modifiers.
However, corruption is never guaranteed to produce valuable results. A batch of 50 gives you more opportunities than a batch of 10, but it does not guarantee that you will recover your investment or make a profit.
Step 5: Organize Your Listings and Calculate the Returns
When listing your finished Waystones, group similar items together. Keep Tier 16 versions in one section, standard Tier 15 Waystones with matching modifiers in another, and expensive versions separately. This makes your listings easier to browse and can encourage buyers to purchase multiple items at once.
According to the example, the 50 Waystones generate 97.9 Divine Orbs in total sales. Tier 16 versions contribute 34.2 Divines, while Tier 15 versions contribute 63.7 Divines. The estimated costs include 76 Divines for Omens, five Divines for Chaos Orbs, and 0.16 Divine for Exalted Orbs. This gives an investment of approximately 81.16 Divines and an estimated profit of 16.74 Divines.
These results depend on the example’s market prices and crafting outcomes. Actual profits can change with exchange rates, buyer demand, transaction fees, and corruption results. Overall, this side farm can be a useful addition to your Atlas routine if you understand the risks and have sufficient starting capital. Learn the crafting process, test it with a manageable budget, and decide whether to expand your batches or buy POE 2 Currency Orbs to support further crafting.
